CMS's 30th Anniversary Season

At The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the concert experience conveys a sense of intimate sharing – a conversation between close friends – who happen to be among the finest musicians in the world. They are masters of their language and their instruments – whom The Los Angeles Times calls "members of the elite in the chamber music arena." This season Artistic Director David Shifrin, the Artist Members of the CMS, and a host of guests celebrate 30 years of presenting the best performances of chamber music from every era.

On the occasion of the Chamber Music Society's 30th Anniversary, we proudly present the Guide to the 1998-99 Season. Author James Keller of The New Yorker takes a fascinating, entertaining look at the stories behind the music featured in each of our Alice Tully Hall performances.
